Foot Fracture Surgery

As opposed to simple foot fractures that can heal on their own, complex fractures require surgical intervention and generally have high success rates. During foot fracture surgeries, the broken bones are aligned properly so that they will heal well, which may not be possible without the operation.

Metatarsal Surgery

When bunions, rheumatoid arthritis and other issues are causing foot deformities, metatarsal surgery may be recommended to correct the issue. The process entails cutting parts of the metatarsal bone and repositioning it before fastening it in place with metal pins or screws so that they may heal in a more natural position.

Toe Deformity Correction Surgery

Similarly, surgical treatment may be called for when severe corns, calluses, bunions and hammertoes disfigure the feet to the point where there is pain, discomfort and mobility issues. The operation involves repositioning the toes to allow the patient to walk normally and without pain or discomfort.

Achilles Tendon Repair

For Achilles tendon injuries due to accidents at work or during athletic activities, surgery may be needed to reconnect the torn tendon's ends. When the Achilles tendon connecting the back of the heel to the calf muscle is torn, this causes pain and mobility problems. When the tendon injury is so severe that it cannot reconnect naturally without surgery, doctors will recommend surgical treatment to promote faster recovery and lower risk of recurring injuries.

Fusion Surgery

This procedure is for joints that have experienced extensive damage and are causing chronic pain due to friction when the bones of a joint come into contact with each other after they have lost their protective tissues. Fusion surgery is a type of foot surgery that involves removing the remaining cartilage and permanently joining or fusing the adjacent bones together. This will prevent the movement and friction that causes pain and other issues.
